You don't become confident by shouting affirmations in the mirror, but by having a stack of undeniable proof that you are who you say you are.
Outwork your self doubt.
-Alex Hormozi
How do you build confidence?
Where does it come from?
How do some people seem to win at everything they do?
The truth is that winning, like most things, is a learned behaviour.
So is losing.
Life is 90% a mental battle.
If you show up to the start line of a race believing you're probably going to come in last...
Then that is the benchmark you've set for yourself,
And is probably where you're going to end up.
But, it's not really that simple, is it?
Because you can't just show up to the start line of a race and believe you'll win, then win.
You need to actually have confidence you'll win, right?
There is a huge difference between believing something and being confident in it.
Lots of people believe lots of things about themselves...
But are they really confident in it?
Examine your own life.
What do you believe about yourself - positive and negative?
Maybe you believe you are in good shape, but are you confident?
If we put you in a room with 100 other athletes, how would you do?
Maybe you believe you're smart...
But if we put you in a room with 100 other people who also believe they're smart, how would you stack up?
How would you know?
That brings us to the main first point.
CONFIDENCE COMES FROM BEING TESTED.
Lebron James doesn't believe he's good at basketball.
He fucking knows he is because he's proven it.
Usain Bolt doesn't believe he is probably a fast runner.
He knows it.
He is confident in it.
He's been tested.
If you are unsure of yourself...
Or of what you believe about yourself...
Then test yourself.
Here's the next part. This is important.
How do you see issues with yourself?
Are you a fat person...
Or do you just have some excess body-fat?
There is a huge difference.
One is WHO YOU ARE,
The other is just something you have.
Are you "not a runner"...
Or do you just not run right now?
Do you have depression,
Or are you just depressed right now?
Do you see the difference?
One is a complete limiting constraint you have put on yourself as a person,
The other is just a thing that you can easily change.
This is so fucking important.
You and your brain are malleable, like clay.
You can believe whatever you want to believe.
Somethings are very harmful to you,
Some are very beneficial.
Stop believing the harmful shit.
If you are not confident in things about yourself, there are 3 things you need to do:
1. Identify them
2. Actively work on them
3. Test them
Repeat steps two and three until your weakness is a strength.
Stop over complicating shit.
Nothing is complicated.
You just think it is,
So that you don't actually have to do the work to remedy it.
Enough of that.
This is your life.
It is going to pass whether you are a piece of shit or become the ideal version of yourself.
The time is going to pass either way.
Time doesn't care about you.
The only person who has to live in your brain is you.
Take control.
Identify problems.
Pursue solutions.
You've fucking got this.
